auditions

General Information

Auditions take place every Spring (with a makeup day in the Fall for special cases)

Please read through this whole page before submitting any forms or payments. Invite your friends to audition too!

You should plan on auditioning in the Spring for the best chance of getting into FMAYS as there may not be spots open in the fall.

AUDITION REGISTRATION FORM

Each group has an audition registration form below. Scroll down to the appropriate ensemble. Please complete that first.

AUDITION SIGNUP

Steps to Follow:

  1. fill out the Audition Registration Form

  2. complete the Code of Conduct form

  3. pay the Audition Fee

I will send an email to sign up for an audition time slot AFTER all 3 items above are completed. The email will go to the email addresses you have listed on the Audition Registration Form.

The sign-up sheet is not automatically sent out--I need time to process the registration forms. If you do not receive an email after 5 business days, send me an email at fmays@fmays.org. I am currently able to send out sign-up links for Concert Strings auditions. I will have to wait to send out Attacca/Symphony audition links---I'm waiting to hear back from audition judges on timing.

AUDITION FEE

There is a $25 fee to audition. This fee must be paid prior to scheduling an audition time. The options to pay your audition fee are below

  • Check - Make checks payable to FMAYS, and mail all checks to FMAYS 808 3rd Ave S. Suite 302, Fargo, ND 58103. Please make sure your students name is on the memo line of the check

  • Credit card - online

  • Venmo - You MUST put your student’s name in the Venmo “What’s it for?” section. This way we can connect a payment to your student. For instructions on how to make a payment using Venmo us this handy Venmo Instructions Page. We are working on phasing out Venmo, so this is NOT a preferred method of payment

ATTACCA STRINGS AND SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AUDITIONS

Please note that students DO NOT need to audition for both Symphony and Attacca. If you audition for Symphony Orchestra, you will be placed in either Symphony or Attacca based on that audition.
